Book Description:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature, attributed to Luo Guanzhong and written in the 14th century. Set during the turbulent end of the Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period (2nd–3rd century CE), the novel dramatizes the epic struggle between the rival states of Wei, Shu, and Wu as they vie for control of China.

Blending history, legend, and moral philosophy, the narrative follows legendary figures such as Liu Bei, Cao Cao, Sun Quan, Zhuge Liang, and Guan Yu — each embodying ideals of loyalty, strategy, honor, and ambition. Through dramatic battles, political intrigue, and heroic deeds, Romance of the Three Kingdoms explores the rise and fall of dynasties, the price of power, and the enduring complexity of leadership.

Vast in scope and rich in character, it remains a cornerstone of East Asian storytelling, deeply influential in literature, theater, and modern media.
